Fitesa Gives Back: Hope for Puerto Rico on Manufacturing Day
October 6th is Manufacturing Day, a nationally celebrated day set aside to recognize the contribution manufacturing makes to the American economy and the career opportunities it presents.
In honor of Manufacturing Day, Fitesa is celebrating their success in our area and their ongoing expansion at their Simpsonville site by giving back. Non-woven fibers that make up diapers and baby wipes are a core product produced by Fitesa. It is only fitting, since diapers and wipes have been identified as critical needs by hurricane victims in Puerto Rico, that Fitesa would donate in this manner. Fitesa is donating $4000 of diapers and baby wipes to go directly to Puerto Rico hurricane victims.
Several members of the Upstate community who are coordinating collection and transport of supplies to Puerto Rico will be on site at Noon this Friday, October 6, to receive the supplies. A brief factory tour will follow the presentation of the donation.
