Ribbon Cutting for LGS Class 3's Simpsonville Mural
Leadership Golden Strip Class 3 is excited to celebrate the completion of their group service project: three murals being installed in Mauldin, Simpsonville, and Fountain Inn. Join us for the unveiling of Simpsonville's mural which is located on the north side of Willy Taco in downtown Simpsonville.
Leadership Golden Strip is a collaborative leadership development program involving members of the Mauldin, Simpsonville, and Fountain Inn Chambers of Commerce. Class 3 chose their service project with the goal of connecting, engaging, and unifying the Golden Strip communities through art. Three well-known locations, one from each community, will soon feature beautiful, unique murals that define the Golden Strip: B. W. Burdette & Son Hardware in Fountain Inn; the Mauldin Cultural Center; and Willy Taco in Simpsonville. Class 3 worked diligently during their time together to raise money to help fund the project, which was commissioned through Art Houzze, an Upstate firm that offers unique opportunities to experience art. The class raised over $30,000 to make these murals come to life.
