Simpsonville's Annual Christmas Parade, Presented by Weichert Realtors - Shaun & Shari Group
We have a festive line-up ready for Sunday! If you're planning to come enjoy our drive-through parade, you will simply need to drive on over to Heritage Park (861 S.E. Main Street, Simpsonville) and enter through the main entrance. The
will be helping direct traffic to help everyone stay safe. Parade staff and volunteers will be located along the parade route to keep things moving smoothly too. The gates will be open to the public from 3pm until 5pm. Message us with any other questions!
What is a drive-through parade? A drive-through parade is a creative way to hold a socially distanced holiday celebration. In a drive-through parade, the parade entrants are stationary with only one side facing spectators. Rather than large groups of spectators gathering along city streets, they will drive by the parade entrants and remain safely in their vehicles. Parade entries will be assigned a stationary position along Dennis Waldrop Way with a safe distance between them and other groups and spectators’ vehicles. Spectators will drive through the park from the main entrance at S.E. Main Street and exit the park at Howard Drive.
What is the theme “Home for the Holidays?” We want to celebrate Simpsonville and all of the amazing people, places, and things in our community by asking that each parade entry be decorated to represent what “Home for the Holidays” means to them. For example, Home for the Holidays could be a family celebrating the holidays together in their home, a soldier coming home from overseas, or even a group of friends spending time together in Simpsonville. The interpretation of the theme is up to each individual entrant, all we require is that each entrant MUST be decorated to the best of their ability.
What awards will be given this year? Awards will be given to the first, second, and third place winners of the People’s Choice Award. Entries that opt into the judged contest will be included on ballots given to each vehicle of spectators. Spectators will complete the ballot and hand it in at the end of the parade. Winners will be announced via social media no later than Wednesday, December 9th.
All local businesses and community groups are invited to be a part of the parade by entering a decorated float, performance group, or vehicle in keeping with the theme: HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS.
