Kaleidoscope Business Spotlight: Bobby's BBQ, November 2023
Join us in recognizing Tay and Sarah Nelson, Owners, of Bobby's BBQ in our November Kaleidoscope Business Spotlight! Tay and Sarah have been members of the Simpsonville Area Chamber of Commerce for four years.
Bobby's BBQ recently marked a significant milestone, commemorating five years of business in October. They celebrated 5 years with a large party called Sizzle & Smoke that they hope to continue each year. The party was a celebration of gratitude, as they have not only weathered the challenges brought by the pandemic, which struck just a year and a half after their grand opening but have also continued to flourish, all thanks to the unwavering support of their loyal Bobby's BBQ family.
Since the inception of Bobby's BBQ, they've garnered recognition and partnered with industry giants such as YouTube, Google, Microsoft, The Wall Street Journal, Time Magazine, The Tamron Hall Show, ABC World News, as well as the local Upstate news channels. Most recently, Tay was distinguished as one of only six pitmasters nationwide to be selected for Kingsford's Preserve the Pit Program—what an honor!
In light of their success, Bobby's BBQ is in the midst of expanding their restaurant to create a more comfortable environment for their guests. The current covered patio is slated to be extended by 12 feet toward the parking area and an additional 10 feet towards the back. This expanded space, in addition to the current covered patio, will soon be transformed into interior seating, complete with heating and cooling systems. But fear not, outdoor enthusiasts, as they're also planning to install a generous covering over the front of the restaurant to shield picnic tables from both rain and sun.
Bobby's BBQ is deeply committed to giving back to the community and frequently collaborates with local organizations such as the Miriam Foundation, Generations Group Home, Bel-Aire Academy, and various local schools.
