The Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail is coming to Mauldin!
Leadership Golden Strip is excited to announce that fundraising has begun to bring the Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail to Mauldin. This first quarter mile of the trail will serve as the “Gateway to the Golden Strip”. Located adjacent to Maudlin High School on Butler Road, it will connect to the new bridge that will flyover Hwy 385 at the new Bridgeway Station development. Moving the Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail into the Golden Strip of Greenville County has been a long time coming. With the pedestrian bridge now approved and moving forward, this opportunity is becoming a reality.
“Crossing 85 or 385 has always been the main challenge when you talk about the Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail moving into southern Greenville County. Over the past decade the Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail has become nationally known as a tremendous asset for the residents of Greenville County. Fitness, fellowship, and economic growth are all parts of the trail. Our class feels that spearheading this section now shows that the communities of the Golden Strip (Mauldin, Simpsonville, and Fountain Inn) are committed to seeing the trial hop this way.” Chris Ingle, Class Leader.
Leadership Golden Strip is comprised annually of professionals from Mauldin, Simpsonville, and Fountain Inn. Each class selects projects to meet a need in the area. Class projects are chosen based on proposals submitted by class members, as well as nonprofit organizations. This year’s
class of sixteen local leaders have chosen to fundraise and develop this important new section of the Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail. All donations made for this effort are tax-deductible.
Leadership Golden Strip is a collaborative effort between the Fountain Inn, Greater Mauldin, and Simpsonville Area Chambers of Commerce. The Chamber’s goal is to open doors for individuals with the desire and ability to shape the future of our vibrant communities. Through face-to-face meetings with city, county, and state leaders and on-site visits to local institutions, agencies, and organizations, participants explore the major issues and unique challenges facing the Golden Strip area.
