LGS Class 3 Unveils “Trio of Murals,” Completing Group Service Project

LGS Class 3 Unveils “Trio of Murals,” Completing Group Service Project

SIMPSONVILLE, South Carolina – Leadership Golden Strip Class 3, a collaborative leadership development program involving members of the Mauldin, Simpsonville, and Fountain Inn Chambers of Commerce, recently completed its service project that will connect, engage, and unify the Golden Strip community through art for years to come. Three different murals now grace three separate locations across the Golden Strip. The group raised money from the community to help fund the project, and partnered with Art Houzze, an Upstate firm that offers unique opportunities to experience art.

Three well-known locations, one from each community, are now adorned with a meaningful mural that defines the Golden Strip: B. W. Burdette & Son Hardware in Fountain Inn; the Mauldin Cultural Center; and Simpsonville Square.

LGS Class 3 Co-Presidents, Brittany Hilbert and Stephan Thomas, are proud to have led their fellow class members through this project. Hilbert added, “Our goal with this project was to continue to add to the vibrant communities in the Golden Strip by highlighting each area’s unique history while also weaving together the common bonds that make them a community that families can call home.”
